The Roots To The Fruits Manifesto
The founding transmission of Roots To The Fruits, recorded in the upheaval of November 2020. A young Tyler (Tyzen) Drake lays down the whole why: you are the interpreter of every circumstance, so you are the leader of your own life — which means it's all your fault, and that is the most liberating thing there is. He reframes the pursuit of happiness as the expansion of it, and frames the work ahead as a seed extending its roots before it ever sprouts above the surface.

You are the leader of your own life, your own spirit, and your own destiny — because you are the leader, that means it's all my fault. Yes, true story. It is all my fault, a hundred percent — because by being responsible, that word response, being able to respond, means I can happen to life. I'm not a victim.
Imagine how different this world would be if instead of the pursuit — which means that there's a lack of it — it was the expansion of happiness. That is the opportunity that lives in front of you, my friend. You get to just expand your happiness. No one else is in charge of your happiness.
You're the seed that is in the soil right now, with roots expanding deeply, going all the way to the center of the earth, grabbing those nutrients, finding that water — and then you start to sprout. You break the soil, you break the surface. Now you can be seen.
This is where it all begins — the very first words of Roots To The Fruits, recorded by a young Tyler (Tyzen) Drake on November 10th, 2020, in the middle of a year that rearranged everything. The whole vision is here in raw form: that everything we experience is by our own design, conscious or unconscious, and that even where we can’t control the circumstance, we are always the interpreter of it. From that single move he draws the show’s spine — you are the leader of your own life, which means it’s all your fault, and that responsibility (response-ability, the ability to respond) is not a burden but the most liberating gift there is. You’re not stranded on someone else’s island. You can build a boat.
The episode turns on a reframe he keeps coming back to: not the pursuit of happiness, which implies a lack, but the expansion of it — something no one else is in charge of. He names his own friction honestly (“I get pissed off, I get frustrated, I get short-tempered”), insists the adversity is the process of stretching the roots, and lands on the image the whole series grows from: you are the seed in the soil, sending roots to the center of the earth, and only after you pour in do you sprout above the surface. The entrepreneur, he says, gives value first — extends the roots before the fruit. He frames the show as a holistic living experience where nothing happens in isolation, and an invitation to expand each other’s consciousness through connection and vibrant communication.
